Call to Order: Moderator Bob Rhine called the meeting to order and led the congregation in a brief devotional period. Agenda – Bob Rhine stated the reason for the meeting and read
two items that were recommended by the Church Board of Administration
at its most recent meeting, Tuesday evening, March 20. The Board recommended
that the vote on land acquisition must be approved by a 2/3 majority. Also, the Board accepted the Facilities Development Task Team report
that recommended the Palmyra Church of the Brethren proceed with the
purchase of the 13.49 acre plot of land in South Londonderry Township.
This report and recommendation was passed and is being brought to
Congregational Council with its unanimous approval. Before the motion was voted on, Dale Gingrich of the Facilities Development Task Team reviewed a slide presentation of the South Londonderry Township property description, points of interest, access, land features/issues, environmental findings, and economics/costs involved. Geology questions were fielded by Rane Wilson who worked with Marshall Miller & Associates in the property studies. Terry Baker called for the question. Bob Rhine read the motion again
and YES/NO ballots were distributed by the Leadership Calling Team
for voting. The Team counted the ballots with the following results: Rev. Martha Shaak dismissed the meeting with prayer at 5:00 pm. Respectfully submitted, Shirley Spahr
