CAMP PINE WOODS RENTAL INFORMATION

All persons requesting the use of Pine Woods must complete the following form and return it prior to the rental date to reserve the requested date.

A donation of $60.00 for a one-day event or $100.00 for an overnight event is requested of all persons renting the facility. All scheduling and fee arrangements are to be made with the church secretary at 838-6369. Checks should be made payable to Palmyra Church of the Brethren.

Pine Woods is available to groups, churches, or individuals for retreats, family celebrations, etc. It is NOT available for public events. Admission fees cannot be charged to individuals attending events to be held at Pine Woods, nor can the event be publicized publicly. Palmyra CoB groups, classes, or individuals have priority as far as using the facility. All other scheduling is handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

The key to the facility must be picked up one or two days prior to the scheduled date of use. Pickup and return of the key should be done Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The key must be returned the next business day following the event. If this is inconvenient, special arrangements should be made with the church secretary.

DIRECTIONS TO CAMP PINE WOODS:

In the event of a medical emergency requiring Paramedics or emergency vehicles, the physical address for Camp Pine Woods is:

1390 Old Forge Road, Annville, PA 17003

  • From Palmyra on Route 422 - at the East end of town, travel North on Forge Road (at Klick-Lewis).
  • Cross over railroad tracks, continue due north up the steep hill.
  • At the top of the hill the road bears sharply to the right.
  • Continue a short distance until you come to a Y in the road. Take the road to the left at this Y (stay on Old Forge Road).
  • Approximately 1/4 mile later you'll come upon a sharp 90-degree turn to the left. Take this sharp left turn
  • 3/10's of mile later (past four houses) look for the sign on an electric pole on the right, "Camp Pine Woods." Turn right (the building is at the end of this lane.)
GENERAL POLICIES:
  • Smoking, drinking, and the use of drugs and firearms inside and outside are prohibited!
  • No trespassing on adjacent privately owned property!
  • Keep noise down between the hours of 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
  • Motorcycles, mini-bikes, go-karts, snowmobiles, recreational or two-wheeled vehicles are prohibited!
  • The use of any AIR CONDITIONERS at Pine Woods is PROHIBITED
CLEAN UP: Persons renting the facility are responsible for seeing that the property is left in good condition before leaving.
  • Place all trash in the trash receptacles located at the end of the porch outside.
  • Please be sure all lights are turned off and all doors are locked, including the side door.
  • Please turn the heat down prior to leaving the facility (as noted at thermostat).
  • Remove all materials from entrance sign that was used for directional purposes.
  • Check that the fireplace damper is closed.

CAMP PINE WOODS FEATURES:

    Indoor fireplace:
    To open damper, pull damper towards you prior to use.
    To close damper, push the damper back completely.
    The firewood (stacked outside) is available for your use.
  • Ladies' Room:
    Two commodes
    Shower with hot and cold water
    Large door mirror
    Sink
  • Men's Room:
    One commode & urinal
    Two sinks
    Small wall mirror
    Shower with hot and cold water
  • Outdoor play area for children (swing set)
  • Pavilion with picnic tables and benches
  • Ball field (if not in use by church team)
  • Beautiful acreage for hiking, etc.
  • Fire ring: In rear of building may be used with extreme caution.
    While in use, the hose located under the basement steps must be hooked up to the faucet on the wall outside the women's restroom.
    Water must be turned on at faucet to the right of the sink in the women's restroom.
    Extinguish fire with the water and make sure all embers are extinguished.
  • Storage Area:
    Located between Main Room and Kitchen - screw the light bulb to turn on.
    Broom, dustpans, etc., available for use
  • Kitchen:
    10 burner gas stove - lighting instructions are on the wall above the stove - matches are required

    Double sink with hot water

    Upstairs area (outside of main sleeping area
